U.S. diplomats win chess tournament in Tashkent

TASHKENT. KAZINFORM - A regular chess tournament among reps of diplomatic corps, international organizations and foreign companies accredited in Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent.

The event brought together 22 teams, including chess players of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan was represented by two teams.

The U.S. diplomatic mission was ranked the first, followed by Germany and Lukoil company at the end of the two-day tournament. Kazakhstani team comprised of Azamat Aldamzharov and Temirbek Kappassov took the 10th place.

The tournament initiated by the diplomatic corps is held in Uzbekistan annually since 2005.
