ALMATY. July 29. KAZINFORM The official handover ceremony of a training camp by the U.S. side to the Kazakh Armed Forces took place near Almaty.

"During my tenure in Iraq, I've noticed how strong the Kazakh peacekeeping forces sent there by the Government were," U.S. Ambassador Kenneth J. Fairfax said at the ceremony.

He noted that drills at the training camp will help Kazakhstani peace keepers improve their skills. Airmobile forces and reps of the U.S. diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan took part in the ceremony.

The training camp was constructed within the framework of the 5-year cooperation plan between the defense ministries of Kazakhstan and the U.S.
