U.S. soldier killed in bomb attack in Iraq

The soldier, assigned to Multi National Division Center (MND-Center), was killed on Sunday, the military said without elaboration. MND-Center, also known as Task Force Mountain, is responsible for security and stability in the area south of Baghdad ranging from Najaf to Wasit provinces. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statement said, adding that the incident is under investigation; Kazinform has learned from Xinhua. The latest death raised the toll of the U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq to 4,245 since the U.S.-led invasion in Iraq in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
