U.S. special envoy to visit Pakistan next week
ISLAMABAD. March 1. KAZINFORM U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador Marc Grossman will visit Pakistan next week, U.S. embassy spokesman said on Tuesday. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
This is Grossman's first visit to Pakistan since his appointment as special regional envoy last month.
He will also visit Kabul, London, Jeddah and Brussels, the embassy said.
In Kabul and Islamabad, Grossman will meet with senior government officials and representatives from civil society and local media, an embassy statement said.
In his meeting, Grossman will emphasize the U.S. commitment to long-term, enduring partnerships with both Afghanistan and Pakistan. He will continue the ongoing dialogues started by Ambassador Holbrooke and reaffirm the message Secretary Clinton made in her Feb. 18 speech to the Asia Society, according to the U. S. embassy.
