UK appoints new trade envoy to Azerbaijan, Central Asia
John Alderdice, member of the House of Lords of the UK Parliament, has been appointed as the country’s Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan and Central Asia, Trend reports via the UK’s Department for International Trade.

According to the department, the UK’s Trade Minister announced today the appointment of a team for global development.
Overall, 32 newly appointed trade envoys will work to increase the UK’s export and investment potential, aiming to stimulate economic growth as part of the government’s reform plan.
Alderdice is a politician from Northern Ireland who has held various influential positions. From 1998 through 2004, he was the Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
Earlier it was reported that the US Senate confirmed Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary.
