Ukraine and Kazakhstan to build aircraft manufacturing plant

ASTANA. November 24. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Ukraine and Kazakhstan plan to build a plant to produce AN-140-100 aircraft. Kazakhstan's AeroKZ LLP and Ukraine's Antonov Corporation signed a corresponding agreement on Thursday in Astana.

The cost of the project will be USD 150 million. The construction of the plant will be finished in 2012. The plant will manufacture three passenger planes in 2012, eight in 2013, twelve in 2014. According to Mykola Azarov, Prime Minister of Ukraine, the aircrafts will be much cheaper than foreign ones and intended for local airports.
