Ukraine must start radical economic reforms in 2011 - Yanukovich
"Our first anti-crisis measures have produced positive results: economic growth has resumed, financial stability has been maintained, we have regained credibility with international partners, but the people expect us to take specific, well-calculated and successful follow-up moves," Yanukovich said.
In his opinion, one of the threats to the country is the low life expectancy and its possible deterioration in the coming year because of rising prices and the worsening global crisis.
As he dwelt on the importance of informing the public about the real state of affairs in the country, the president drew attention to the pension reform situation. "We must have true information," Yanukovich said. He called for holding parliamentary hearings on the pension reform.
"The administrative reform is extremely overdue. And we will consider it soon," he said.
