Ukraine, Russia gas companies sign technical agreement on gas transit
KIEV. April 7. KAZINFORM The Naftogaz Ukrainy and Gazprom companies signed a technical agreement on gas transit, said the Ukrainian president? s representative on international energy security Bogdan Sokolovsky, speaking live on the ICTV television network, Kazinform refers to ITAR-TASS.
According to the representative, the agreement ?we have been waiting for three months?, was signed in Moscow on Monday.
On January 19, the heads of Gazprom and Naftogaz signed a contract of purchase-sale of Russian gas for 2009-2019 in the presence of the Russian and Ukrainian premiers. The sides agreed that Ukraine would receive a 20-percent discount for natural gas under condition of preserving the tariff of pumping Russian gas for European buyers in 2009 at the 2008 price.
