Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan need grain pool, Azarov says
TANA. November 24. KAZINFORM Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan should revive the idea of creating a Black Sea grain pool, said Mykola Azarov, the Ukrainian prime minister.
According to Bloomberg, should such a pool be formed the three governments, rather than grain traders, would set prices, Azarov said today in Astana, the Kazakh capital, according to a statement published on the government website.
The three countries may coordinate crop sales and share export facilities, Valeriy Muntiyan, Ukraine's then-deputy economy minister, said in April. Yelena Skrynnik, Russia's agriculture minister, put forward plans in 2009 to share port facilities on the Black Sea.
