Ukraine should have focused on economic problems, not political ones: Nazarbayev
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Ukraine should have focused on its economic problems, instead of political ones, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of Kazakhstan, said at the meeting with the heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in the country Wednesday.

"Whatever the experts say today about the recent developments in Ukraine, the social problems are to blame. Ukraine was the second strongest economy in the Soviet Union after Russia. Unfortunately, today it lags behind Kazakhstan in that respect," the Kazakh leader admitted.
"This should not have happened in the first place, especially given Ukraine's robust economy and large population," President Nazarbayev added.
