UN Commission for Europe developed recommendations for simplifying international trade procedures - conference in Astana

ASTANA.  October 13. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Organization of customs control on the principle of "single window" will let cut time of goods passing through the borders and reducing mistakes. Regional Advisor of the Trade Committee of the UN Commission for Europe Mario Apostolov has said at the first preparatory conference to the 18th Economic and Ecological Forum of the OSCE being held in Astana Rixos Hotel at present.

According to him, the "single window" principle means that all documents are submitted to one window only and state bodies receive all necessary information without participation of the person who transits the goods. Simplification of the trade and transit procedures promotes development of international trade. The UN Commission for European recommends introduction of new rules of transit and trade in accordance with the international standards. The commission has developed several recommendations for all stages of transition to simplified procedures.

"The single window principle cuts time for customs formalities up to one hour while earlier the procedures took from 4 to 5 days", Apostolov noted.
