UN Development Assistance Framework for Kazakhstan (2010-2015) signed in Astana

ASTANA. April 3. KAZINFORM. /Kurmat Samarkhan/ The 2010-2015 United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for Kazakhstan has been signed today in the Kazakh Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The document was signed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Nurlan Danenov and UN Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan, Mr. Haoliang Xu. The program is adopted once every four or five years. By now the Development Assistance Framework has been signed for the third time. The document is aimed at ensuring collective, coordinated and integrated assistance in implementation of national priority projects and solving problems within the framework of the Millenium Development Goals and other international commitments. Besides, UNDAF determines general direction of interaction with the UN specialized agencies - the UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNIFEM, UNAIDS and others.
