UN Human Rights Council’s 16th session begins in Geneva

BAKU. March 1. KAZINFORM The opening of the 16th session of the UN Human Rights Council took place in Geneva. According to APA, the session will address the issues related to Iran, North Korea, Myanmar, Columbia and human rights in Cyprus, cooperation on protection of human rights in Kazakhstan and technical assistance as well. The Council will hear the reports of special rapporteurs and experts.

Columbian Vice President, US Secretary of State, Russian, British, French, Australian, Jordanian, Maldivian, Mexican and Tunisian foreign ministers are expected to address the Council.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights will submit annual report in the session, APA reports.
