UN Office in Geneva to support Kazakhstan?s international initiatives: S. Ordzhonikidze

ASTANA. February 24. KAZINFORM Yesterday Kazakhstan Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva Amanzhol Zhankuliyev had a meeting with the UN Under Secretary General, Director General of the European Department Sergei Ordzhonikidze on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission, Kazinform has learnt from the MFA?s press service.

A. Zhankuliyev thanked S. Ordzhonikidze for friendly attitude to Kazakhstan and expressed hope for further strengthening of traditional cooperation and collaboration between the RK and the UN. During the talk S. Ordzhonikidze shared his impressions of his meeting with President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the framework of the II Congress of the World and Traditional Religions? Leaders in Astana and asked to extend him his best wishes. The Director General noted growing political and economic potential of our country since the time of gaining independence and its leading position n the region. In this context he highly estimated Kazakhstan?s activity within the specialized agencies of the UN in Geneva. The parties also exchanged views on the current situation connected with the global financial crisis. In turn, A. Zhankuliyev told in details about the current situation in the republic and the Government?s anti-crisis measures. Upon completion of the talk S. Ordzhonikidze assured A. Zhankuliyev in support of Kazakhstan?s international initiatives by the UN Office in Geneva.
