UN Special Representative discusses regional security with Kazakh envoy in Tashkent
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Miroslav Jenča met with ambassadors of the Central Asian countries in Tashkent, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA's press service.
In Tashkent, Mr. Jenča had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Boribay Zheksembin. The meeting was also attended by heads of the diplomatic missions of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenstan accredited in Uzbekistan.
The sides discussed water resources and energy issues in Central Asia, political situation in Afghanistan and regional security - counteraction to terrorism, extremism and illicit drug trafficking.
