UN talks on gender-based violence in Kazakhstan in new episode of “New Time" TV show
The United Nations marked the conclusion of annual campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence". Ambassadors of 16 countries and heads of UN agencies traveled to every region of Kazakhstan to help raise awareness on this issue. Earlier this week “New Time” TV show reporter Dauren Issagulov interviewed H.E. Ambassador of Canada to Kazakhstan, Mr. Alan Hamson and UN Resident Coordinator for Kazakhstan, Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey. They shed light on the specific steps being taken by Kazakhstan and the international community in addressing the gender-based violence.
Astana hosted experts from around the world at the “Astana Club” to discuss global issues. Over 40 speakers from the United States, China, Spain, Belgium, Türkiye, and other countries participated in the event where crucial global issues are raised. On the sidelines of one of the sessions, “New Time” TV show reporter Balzhan Samigullina talked to former prime minister of Belgium Yves Leterme. In an exclusive interview, the Belgian diplomat empathized that relations between Kazakhstan and Belgium have intensified over the last decade and tend to strengthen in the areas of energy production, natural resources and logistics.

The creators have expanded their project to the Kyrgyz market. The startup has already garnered partnerships with supermarket chains, canteens and cafes in the neighboring country. Currently, over 1,000 applicants from Kyrgyzstan have registered with the app. “New Time” team talked to creators of the platform and made a story about the project.
