Unemployment prevention ? main issue of Government activity in 2009: PM

ASTANA. January 12. KAZINFORM /Zauresh Balkenova/ Preventing the growth of unemployment and mitigating its consequences will be the main issue in the activity of the Kazakh Government in 2009. Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has announced it at a telephone conference; Kazinform reports.

?At the first telephone conference in 2008 we set as a main issue preventing of an additional price increase, a main issue in 2009 ? employment?, K.Massimov noted. He noted that the main task for 2009 is performance of the adopted anti-crisis program, which is a matter of priority in the framework of struggle against unemployment. ?The Head of the State was acquainted with a specific Action Plan on performance of the anti-crisis program and approved it last week. Tomorrow this Action Plan will be considered and adopted at the Government?s session?, the Premier said. Besides, the Prime Minister announced that till the end of January reports of governors of all oblasts, except the regions, which he intends to visit this month, will be listened to at the Government?s session on the results of 2008. ?A regional anti-crisis program will be the main issue in the oblasts, which I will visit. And we will also listen to Astana and Almaty?, the Premier said. K.Massimov emphasized, that the first issue in the framework of the regional anti-crisis programme will be the issue of employment.
