Unemployment rate falls in Almaty
73,900 jobs including 61,500 permanent ones were created in Almaty last year, Kazinform News Agency reports.
According to the city mayor’s office, in the third quarter of 2017, unemployment rate reduced by 4.6%.
“73,900 jobs were created last year. 83.2% of these jobs are permanent ones. As a result, unemployment rate reduced by 4.6% in the third quarter of 2024,” the press service of the mayor’s office said.
In 2024, the mayor’s office planned to create 87,025 jobs, and in 2025 – at least 76,000, including 67,500 permanent ones.
The city also expects annual inflation slowdown to 7.5% in 2025.
Earlier, it was reported that 2.4 million square meters of housing were built in Almaty last year against 2.67 million square meters commissioned in 2023.
