UNIDO Director General praises socio-economic and integration policy of Kazakh President
ASTANA. March 12. KAZINFORM Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the international organizations headquartered in Vienna Yerzhan Kazykhanov presented credentials to Director General of the UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) Kandeh Yumkella yesterday, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation. The UNIDO Director General paid particular attention to the Address of the Kazakh President to the Nation and the Kazakh Government's measures on overcoming the global crisis, diversification of the national economy and support of financial sector, small and medium business of the country.
K.Yumkella praised the socio-economic and integration policy of the Head of the State and said that the UNIDO intends to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with our country with the establishment of the regional center of the Organization in Astana. According to him, one of the important directions in bilateral cooperation is interaction in the sphere of industrial development, where Kazakhstan with its economic and investment potential could become the regional hub in the transfer of new technologies and energy. The priority directions of cooperation between the UNIDO and the CIS were discussed at the meeting as well.
The UNIDO Director General accepted the invitation to pay a visit to Kazakhstan with pleasure.
