Unified National Health System introduction to be accelerated - Deputy Premier Orynbaev

KARAGANDA. July 18. KAZINFORM - Karaganda is holding the republican conference on the results of introducing the Unified National Health System (UNHS) for the first half of 2013 and plans for 2014 with participation of Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Yerbol Orynbayev.

The meeting is also attended by the Minister of Health Salidat Kairbekova, akim deputies and heads of regional health departments, cities of Astana and Almaty, the director of research centers and institutes, rectors of medical schools, the private sector, experts of international organizations in Kazakhstan and others.

"The outcome of implementing the UNHS has showed the validity of the chosen principles. We have to force promotion of this system, " said Mr. Orynbaev.

Deputy Prime Minister said that implementing the UNHS allowed the actualization of a competitive environment among providers of medical services.

"The share of private providers increased to 17%," he said.

"In addition, at the present time payment for a patient having been treated is made with the executed volume and quality of services rendered," said Deputy Prime Minister.

E. Orynbaev said that the next important areas of introducing the UNHS will be improving outpatient care, as well as issues related to implementation of public-private partnerships in health care.
