United Cup 2025: Kazakhstan drawn in Group C with Greece and Spain

From December 27, 2024 to January 5, 2025, two cities of Australia — Sydney and Perth – will host the third edition of the United Cup, an international hard court tennis competition featuring mixed-gender teams from 18 countries, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan.

Team Kazakhstan has been drawn in Group C featuring also Spanish and Greek teams. The Kazakh team includes Elena Rybakina, Zhibek Kulambayeva, Alexander Shevchenko, Dmitry Popko and team captain Alexander Nedovyesov.

On December 27, at the opening match, Rybakina will face Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro, and Alexander Shevchenko will play vs Pablo Carreño Busta from Spain.

This will be Kazakh players’ second participation in the tournament.

For the first time, the team competed in the United Cup in 2023, when the tournament debuted.
