MINSK.  May 3. KAZINFORM There are plans to create a united logistics railway company of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan in 2012, Belarusian Transport and Communication Minister Ivan Shcherbo told the press on 3 May.

The Minister said the company will be fully operational by the end of the year. It is being established now. "At my level, the level of a minister, the decision has been made, relevant instructions have been issued," said Ivan Shcherbo, BelTA reports.

The Minister reminded 50 sites to set up logistics centers had been chosen in Belarus, including 24 transportation and logistics ones. The official believes that transportation logistics is the future. Belarus has a considerable logistics potential, particularly for attracting freight traffic between Asia and Western Europe.

Modern logistics centers, warehouses, access roads are being built for the Belarusian railway system. Logistics advances taking into account complex usage of various kinds of transport, including transportation by road and by water.
