Up to 79 thousand jobs created in Almaty

In Q3 this year, the unemployment rate was down to 4.8% compared to 5% in 2022, the employment and social programs department said, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports. 

This is attributable to the creation of 79.5 thousand jobs, including 80% or 62.7 thousand permanent ones. In 2022, 57.5 thousand working places, of which 70% or 40.2 thousand permanent ones, were created, said the department.

39 companies with investments worth KZT15bn attracted and 1,200 jobs created have joined the special economic zone the Park of Innovative Technology this year. To carry out the projects, seven land plots with a total area of 15 ha were allocated.

The city is to expect the economic growth of 6.5% this year (5% in 2022).
