Uralsk man jailed for killing 4 in drunk driving road accident

URALSK. KAZINFORM - A Uralsk resident has been sentenced to several years in prison for causing a road accident that killed 4 people, Kazinform correspondent Yelzhan Yeraly reports.

Akbolat Akhmetov, 44, will spend the next 8 years behind bars for killing 4 people in the deadly car crash on October 1, 2014. The accident occurred on the Chapayevo-Kaztalov highway. According to police, Akhmetov was under the influence of alcohol when he lost control of his GAZ vehicle, crossed into the oncoming lane and committed a head-on collision with Lada car. The Lada driver and three passengers died right away. 4 passengers travelling in Akhmetov's car were hospitalized with various injuries.
