US Embassy in Kazakhstan announces open competition for Global Undergraduate Exchange Program
UGRAD is a program of the U.S. Department of State and is administered on our behalf by IREX. The program provides opportunities for first-, second-, and third-year undergraduate students from Kazakhstan for one year of full-time, non-degree study in the United States. Fellows may not choose their U.S. host university/college or community college, the press service of the US Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan reports.
To expose fellows to the principles of community and social responsibility in the United States, Global UGRAD fellows will be required to perform a minimum of 20 hours of community service to local organizations during their first semester. In addition, fellows on a full academic year scholarship will be required to intern 40 hours per month during their second semester. Internships provide an essential opportunity for fellows to gain professional experience and skills that can be applied to their future careers in their home countries.
First-, second-or third-year full-time undergraduate students who are between the ages of 18-24 are citizens of the countries listed above are encouraged to apply. For more details, please visit the program website for further details and eligibility requirements or contact the IREX office for further details at (727) 273 41 50.
