US President-elect plans to abolish daylight saving time

US President-elect Donald Trump has revealed his intention to abolish the practice of daylight saving time, QNA reports.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote that his party would strive to end this practice upon his return to office, stating, "The Republican Party will use its best efforts to eliminate Daylight Saving Time. It is inconvenient and very costly to our nation."

Daylight saving time, which involves setting clocks forward by one hour in the spring and back by one hour in the fall to maximize daylight during the summer months, has long been scrutinized.

First adopted as a wartime measure in 1942, daylight saving time has faced calls for its complete elimination by lawmakers.
