US: Trump sentenced in Stormy Daniels case, but won't go to jail
The President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, was sentenced to “unconditional release” in the trial for payments sent to the porn actress Stormy Daniels in 2016, Agenzia Nova reports.
The sentence was announced a short while ago by Juan Merchan, the New York judge who coordinated the trial, and does not foresee further sanctions, despite staining Trump's criminal record just days before the inauguration of his second administration.
The president-elect, speaking via video link, reiterated his innocence. “It was a terrible experience: all this was done to damage my reputation and make me lose the election,” he added.
Earlier Kazinform News Agency reported on why Donald Trump wants Greenland, Canada, and the Panama Canal.
