USD 19.2 mln invested in Almaty IT ecosystem development
For the past two years 19.2 million US dollars (9.9 billion tenge) in investments were attracted in the development of the IT ecosystem in Almaty, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The city develops the three-year project 2022-2024 Almaty IT ecosystem development. It aims to develop the IT ecosystem and support startups in key directions, including smart cities, AI, Big Data and sustainable development.
According to the digitalization department, over 7,000 participants took part in the MOST events. The total amount of attracted investments hit 19.2 million US dollars and the aggregate income of startups reached 5.37 billion tenge. 2.049 jobs were created, and 1,189 IT specialists were trained as part of the project. Besides, 55 specialists were trained under the Digital Urban Planner, Smart City Engineer program.
It is worth reminding since the year’s beginning, Almaty region has secured 778 billion tenge investment while achieving a 109.1% growth in its short-term economic indicators, governor Marat Sultangaziyev said at a press conference.
