Ust-Kamenogorsk gets ready for spring floods

UST-KAMENOGORSK. March 4. KAZINFORM Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Bozhko is expected to chair a session in Ust-Kamenogorsk regarding the region's preparedness for flood period, the regional Akimat has reported.

Currently, the region is experiencing sudden warm spell. Air temperature during the day is measured at 10°C, and at night it does not fall below zero. Due to abnormal amount of snow in the region, spontaneous avalanches have been registered in the mountainous areas and water level continues to increase steadily in the rivers and creeks.
