Uzbekistan and China reached agreements on 267 projects
Last week, a delegation of 100 entrepreneurs and employees of the hokimiyats of Samarkand region, led by the head of the region, paid a working visit to China for a week, UzA reports.
The delegation visited the cities of Shanghai and Beijing, Shandong, Fujian, and Zhejiang provinces, and the autonomous regions of Inner Mongolia and Ningxia Hui. During the trips, they held meetings with local leaders and entrepreneurs and got acquainted with the activities of large production and service enterprises and technology parks.
In particular, more than 160 leading Chinese companies participated in the Shanghai business forum. Along with the presentation of products and services, members of the delegation introduced those present to the trade, economic, and investment opportunities of Samarkand region.
As part of the event, the Regional Hokim E. Turdimov met with the heads of more than ten large companies in Shanghai.
During the trip to Shandong province, bilateral meetings were held with the Secretary of the provincial party committee Lin Wu and Governor Zhou Naixiang, the Secretary of Jinyang City Party Committee Liu Qiang.
At the meetings with representatives of the government of Shandong province, the rapid development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and China in all areas was noted with satisfaction. The Chinese side expressed its intention to support the development of mutually beneficial relations with Samarkand region in agriculture, electronics and electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, the food industry, digitalization, and many other areas.
More than 250 Chinese businessmen and representatives of large companies took part in the Business Forum with the participation of entrepreneurs from this province and Samarkand region.
Following the forum, a memorandum on the establishment of cooperation between the Pakhtachi region and the city of Liaocheng, Shandong province, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of Samarkand region and this province, as well as other documents were signed.
During the delegation’s visit to Fujian province, a meeting was held with Governor Zhao Long.
The Governor expressed interest in strengthening interregional ties and advocated full support for implementing mutually beneficial projects with entrepreneurs in Fujian by investing in Samarkand region.
Another important document was the agreement to establish sister-city ties between Samarkand region and Fujian province.
At the Business Forum, with the participation of business people from Fujian province and Samarkand region, Mr. Turdimov invited Chinese business people to Samarkand. He noted that they would be provided with the necessary conditions for running their own business.
During the visit of Samarkand delegation to the province of Zhejiang, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, agreements were also reached between the leaders of these regions and entrepreneurs that will serve the economic interests of the parties.
During the week-long trip of Samarkand delegation to China, preliminary agreements were reached on 267 projects worth $5.1 billion.
