Uzbekistan attracts tech companies from around the world

Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov met with CEO of DataVolt, Rajit Nanda, in Saudi Arabia, UzA reports.

The construction of a joint data processing center and the training of qualified specialists were discussed at the meeting. It was stressed that the project will use renewable energy sources, and special attention should be paid to ensuring sufficient energy supply.

The participants also noted the work on attracting large international IT companies to Uzbekistan through the creation of data processing centers. Initiatives to promote IT outsourcing, the training of talents in digital solutions, and the organization of training in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East to promote Uzbekistan’s outsourcing potential were discussed.

Plans to attract major global technology companies to Uzbekistan were considered. Special attention was paid to projects in the telecommunications sector.

Moreover, next year Uzbekistan plans to disburse 43 billion US dollars in investments, which will let implement more than 300 major projects and start manufacturing 662 new products capable of competing with imports.
