Uzbekistan – China: Cooperation in culture and tourism enhances
Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva received the delegation led by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China Hu Heping, UzA reports.
The parties discussed further enhancing trade and economic cooperation, inter-parliamentary dialogue, cultural and humanitarian ties. It was noted that thanks to the strong friendship and political will of the leaders of Uzbekistan and China, relations between the two countries are developing at the level of strategic partnership. A strategic partnership development program for 2023-2027 and projects in industrial, trade, and investment sectors with a total value of over $25 billion are being implemented.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to inter-parliamentary relations, strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Uzbekistan and China are united by cultural similarities, traditions, mentality, and values. The parties paid particular attention to the issues of close cultural cooperation between peoples and tourism development. A proposal was put forward to implement joint scientific projects to study the shared history of the two countries, a program to form a tourist corridor between the cities of the two countries with the support of the Silk Road Foundation and to involve the countries of Central Asia.
An agreement was reached on periodically holding Uzbekistan Culture Days in China and China Culture Days in Uzbekistan, as well as on intensifying the activities of cultural centers.
