Uzbekistan hosts conference on fighting international terrorism

ANKARA. January 19. KAZINFORM International scientific-practical conference "Modern forms and methods of counteraction of terrorism financing" was held in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan, UzA reported.

The conference participants noted that terrorism is global problem and fight against it is important task of global scale. Uzbekistan adopted several legal documents to fight terrorism, which include mechanisms and measures on prevention and combating terrorism. There is special anti-terrorism division in law enforcement bodies of Uzbekistan. Uzbek parliament ratified several conventions on fight against financing of terrorism. During the conference, the special attention was paid to issues of history of terrorism, activity of modern terrorism groups, as well as legal basis for fighting against financing of terrorism, Kazinform refers to the Journal of Turkish Weekly.
