Uzbekistan parliamentary elections over
TASHKENT. December 28. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ Over 87% of Uzbek voters participated in the in the country's parliamentary elections December 27, 2009, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov said at a final briefing yesterday.

According to Abdusalomov, the preliminary results of the elections show around 15 108 950 voters (87.8%) took part in them. "Thus, in accordance with article 44 of the Law "On elections to Oliy Majilis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the election of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament is considered as valid", he said.
Besides, a conference of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan took place. As is known 15 members of this movement were nominated as deputies to the Legislative Chamber. Every deputy represents a certain administrative-territorial unit of the republic.
The preliminary results of the elections will be voiced Monday December 28 at a special press conference.
