Uzbekistan ratifies treaty on allied relations with Kazakhstan
On Thursday, November 30, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law ratifying the Treaty on Allied Relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports via the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan.
The document enshrines a new stage in interstate relations aimed at further strengthening of independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and sustainable economic development of the two countries.
The law envisions close collaboration in the issues of foreign policy, defense and security, migration, industrial cooperation development, adoption of joint measures on rational use of transborder water resources, strengthening the ties between the parliaments, political parties and public organizations.
As per the document, the countries agree to set up a supreme interstate council to be led by the two presidents. The council will determine the strategic areas of development of allied relations and will discuss the most important issues.
