Uzbekistan records a surge in international tourist arrivals

According to the Committee for Tourism Development, 5.7 million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan in January-September, UzA reports.

This figure increased by 16.33 percent compared to last year and amounted to 4.9 million people. In 2020 and 2021, the number of tourists in the same period was 1.4 million and 1.1 million, respectively.

To promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and increase the flow of tourists, funds have been allocated in accordance with the established procedure for the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 28 foreign countries. This year, entrepreneurs with Uzbekistan’s national stand participated in 14 international tourism fairs. The Tourism Development Committee held cultural events in the UK, Malaysia, and Tajikistan and presented Uzbekistan’s gastronomic tourism possibilities.
