Uzbekistan, South Korea strengthen strategic cooperation in pharmaceuticals

The pharmaceutical industry has been actively developing in recent years, and cooperation with many countries, especially South Korea, has been expanding, UzA reports.

The Agency for the Development of the Paratheatrical Industry hosted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea Won Do-yeon.

The Director of the Agency, Abdulla Azizov, informed the guest about the activities of the Tashkent Pharma Park Innovative Scientific-Production Pharmaceutical Cluster, ongoing projects, and the concept of cluster development.

The Ambassador highly appreciated the pace of development of the pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan and noted his willingness to support it.

Speaking about the cooperation between the Pharmaceutical Technical University of Uzbekistan and the Yonsei University of Korea, the Ambassador noted the need to strengthen ties.

The parties discussed the expansion of joint projects between the two countries in pharmaceuticals, investment opportunities, and innovative research.

Ambassador Won Do-yeon stressed the existence of conditions that allow Uzbekistan to become a leader in the region in pharmaceuticals and noted that Korea will become a strategic partner in this area.

Earlier it was reported that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a resolution on establishing the International Turkic States University in Tashkent.
