Uzbekistan to send 16bn cubic meters of irrigation water to Kazakhstan in 2025
This marks increase by 1 billion cubic meters from 15 billion cubic meters of irrigation water Uzbekistan sent to Kazakhstan last year, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The Uzbek side also pledged to ensure stable water supply via Dostyk channel in the 2025 irrigation season.
Kazakh Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Nurzhan Nurzhigitov and Uzbek Water Management Minister Shavkat Khamrayev also agreed to jointly repair interstate channels to boost water supply to Kazakhstan’s Turkestan region and Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region.
10 locations, five in each country, were chosen to install water consumption accounting systems along the Syrdarya River, said Nurzhigitov during the 12th meeting of the Joint Working Group to deepen bilateral water cooperation.
The Joint Working Group is to hold this month a meeting with officials of international organizations to discuss further joint action, added the Kazakh minister.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan would develop 34 joint projects worth 4.5 billion US dollars.
