Vice Minister of Industry Z. Aitzhanova: Domestic producers' interests to be fully accommodated in talks on Customs Union creation
According to her, there were reached agreements on those positions which are of great importance for Kazakhstan.
"First of all the point at issue is medicaments. To date domestic production of medicines makes only 12% of our internal demand, therefore we have reserved five-year transition to establish our own production", Aitzhanova explained.
"Besides we have concluded agreements on three-year transition period for production of freight cars and four-year period for production of raw materials for petrochemical industry", she added.
"For domestic producers we will apply a mechanism of target import or investment preferences. Kazakhstan as well as foreign investors which are interested in import of high-technological products - equipment and raw materials - will be provided with investment preferences like relief from import customs duties.
"Thus, the interests of domestic producers will be fully accommodated during negotiations on the Customs Union creation", Z. Aitzhanova concluded.
