Videoconference on improvement of Kazakhstan?s positions in ?Doing Business? rating held

ASTANA. February 21. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Minister of Economy and Budget Planning with the support of the representation of the World Bank in Astana together with USAID Regional Trade Liberalization and Customs Project (RTLC), interested state bodies, businessmen held a video-conference with the experts of the main office ?Doing Business? of the World Bank in Washington, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Ministry.

Measures taken by the Kazakh Government on improvement of business environment and, in particular, on reduction of administrative barriers in external economy of Kazakhstan, measures aimed at simplification of procedures of export-import operations in Kazakhstan were discussed at the conference. The rating of ?Doing Business?, developed by the World Bank in 2004, is one of the most recognizable investment ratings in the world. Today Kazakhstan takes the 70th place among 181 countries, compared to the 80th one, last year. The country is on the 180th place by ?International trade? category.
