Vinokurov's bike saves 4yo girl from foot amputation

Milena had severely deformed bones as she at birth had no kneecaps and, thus, unfortunately, she could not walk. In October 2012 she underwent surgery in Kurgan city (Russia) and after six months of treatment in the spring the family returned to Kazakhstan. Milena will have to undergo several more courses of rehabilitation but doctors' forecasts are positive.
"Milena is walking a little, leaning on walls or her parents. If she had had no surgery, she would have had to be amputated both legs", said the coordinator of the charity fund named "House" Galina Kvetkina.
Aysha Beksultan had a heart defect and she had a surgery in the Ukraine, where she has recently returned from. Ayaulym Kurbanova also had a heart defect and she was also successfully operated. As for the other four children, their treatment is under the control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
NOTE: In September 2012 London Olympics champion Alexander Vinokurov auctioned the bike which brought him victory. The lot was acquired by Tak Group for USD 243,000. All proceeds from the sale went to the treatment of seriously ill children.
