Volume of milk production in Kazakhstan exceeds 104%

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the share of agricultural enterprises in milk production has reached 39%, Kazinform News Agency reports.

“Given the importance of the issue of ensuring sustainable development of milk production and providing the population with quality dairy products, the government pays special attention to the development of dairy business in rural areas. In 2023 at the expense of funds in the amount of 100 billion tenge, allocated under the program of dissemination of experience of the North Kazakhstan region, 69 dairy-commodity farms were financed, of which 39 such farms with an annual capacity of more than 268,000 tons were put into service,” the ministry noted.

According to the ministry, the total milk production across all economic categories in the country increased by 104.4% by the end of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 3571.9 thousand tons. This growth was particularly notable in agricultural structures, where production reached 1392.7 thousand tons, marking a 108.1% increase.

“The share of agricultural enterprises in milk production stands at 39%, and in private households - 61%,” the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

As reported earlier, Kazakhstan has harvested a record 26.7 million tons of grain crops in 2024.
