Walk a Mile against the Wile walk/run held in Astana

ASTANA. May 17. KAZINFORM On Sunday, May 13, FLEX Alumni Astana City Representatives organized a walk/run against modern-day slavery titled, "Walk a Mile Against the Wile".

The project, with over 120 participants was aimed to raise awareness of human trafficking and address students and other young potential victims. In addition, participants collected clothes, books, and supplies for TIP shelters in Astana and Kokshetau. The walk was preceded by a seminar on trafficking in persons at Nazarbayev University on April 22 led by Embassy experts.

The event was organized by FLEX alumni and other students at Nazarbayev University with the help of the US Embassy, the City Department of Tourism, Physical Culture and Sport, the press service of the US Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan said.
