Warm temperature causes melt of ice town in Rudny

The local authorities of Rudny town, Kostanay region, temporarily shut down the ice sculptures playground due to the risk of collapse, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports. 

On January 3, Kostanay region saw above-zero temperatures during the daytime, leading to snow and ice melting. The decision was made to close the ice town in Rudny to prevent injuries among visitors.

Slides are also closed in the Central Square, Youth Boulevard and Youth Palace starting from January 4 in the region’s administrative center Kostanay due to above-zero temperatures in order to ensure safety.

As temperatures return to sub-zero, the slides will be reopened for visits, said the local administration.

Earlier it was reported that a pile-up crash involving dozens of vehicles occurred in Akmola region.
