Water Polo World Cup to kick off in Almaty

ALMATY. KAZINFORM A milestone sporting event, the FINA Men's Water Polo World Cup, will take place on August 19-24 in Almaty. The world's eight strongest teams will vie for the prestigious trophy, the press service of the Kazakh Water Polo Federation said.

The FINA Water Polo World Cup is a six-day event organised for both men and women every four years since 1979.

Eight teams are selected according to previous World Championships classification (for the first three) and continental championships (for the remaining five, the host country being representative of that continent).
