WB invests USD 45 bln into infrastructure
WASHINGTON. April 24. KAZINFORM /Aliya Altyngazina/ Within the next three years the World Bank is to invest USD 45 bln into the US infrastructure in order to ensure quick post-crisis rehabilitation of the country?s economy. In particular, in 2009-2010 USD 12 bln will be invested into agriculture. Last year this sphere was financed to the amount of USD 4 bln.

The investments into infrastructure will create new jobs and ensure sustainable economic growth and help overcome poverty. The amount of the investments into this sphere will be increased by USD 15 bln compared to the previous three years.
According to the Bank?s data, financing of infrastructure projects in developing countries in 2008 decreased from USD 200 bln to USD 135 bln. Further reduction is forecast in the next year. These investments will prove to be an efficient way to ensure economic recovery.
