WB offers new financial instruments to Kazakhstan
Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Nurlan Baibazarov met with the Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Financial Officer, Anshula Kant, Kazinform News Agency learned from the press service of the Kazakh Government.
The parties discussed Kazakhstan's strategic plans for economic development and investment attraction. They also exchanged views on mutual cooperation and discussed the implementation of joint projects in the field of transport, energy, digital development, as well as the implementation of social projects.
Nurlan Baibazarov pointed out positive dynamics of mutually beneficial cooperation with the World Bank and expressed confidence in continuation of the Bank's partnership with Kazakhstan, which is aimed at supporting the ongoing reforms to achieve more inclusive and sustainable development.
In turn, Anshula Kant presented new financial instruments and guarantees that can be applied to Kazakhstan, as well as to intercountry projects meeting the environmental agenda and aimed at ensuring sustainable development of the entire region.
She also emphasized that the World Bank's presence in Kazakhstan would be expanded within the framework of the upcoming Partnership Strategy for 2026-2030, which will define key strategic priorities.
Earlier, Kazinform reported that Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov held a meeting with the Head of the International Monetary Fund mission in Kazakhstan Nicolas Blancher. The parties discussed the current economic situation, ongoing reforms and measures taken by the Government to ensure sustainable economic growth. The sides also reviewed the IMF’s recommendations on priority areas of economic policy and cooperation plans for the nearest and mid-term outlook.
