1. President Tokayev summarizes Kazakhstan’s CSTO chairmanship results

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted Kazakhstan's achievements during its CSTO chairmanship. President noted a significant progress in the promotion of coordinated approaches at the international arena and adoption of important political documents.

2. Kazakhstan, Russia sign a number of documents

On November 27-28, the Russian President visited Kazakhstan on a state visit, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations. During the visit, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin have adopted the Joint Statement on deepening strategic partnership in a new global order.

3. The National Bank of Kazakhstan raises the base rate

The Monetary Policy Committee of the National Bank of Kazakhstan has decided to set the base rate at 15.25% per annum with a corridor of +/- 1 percentage point. This decision reflects updated forecasts and an assessment of inflation risks.

4. Another 16bln m³ of water to be supplied to Aral Sea by Apr 2025

Kazakhstan plans to supply additional 1.6 billion cubic meters of water to the Aral Sea by April 2025. Approximately 1.3 billion cubic meters of water were supplied to the Aral Sea from October 2023 through April 2024. Since the year beginning this figure reached 2 billion cubic meters.

5. Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China: Tourist arrivals from China doubled

An international forum on the Year of Tourism of Kazakhstan in China was held in Almaty, highlighting the significant growth in tourism cooperation between the two nations. Chinese tourist arrivals in Kazakhstan doubled, with 550,000 visitors in 10 months, while Kazakhstani tourist numbers to China rose by 31%.

6. Dimash Qudaibergen presents natural and cultural treasures of Kazakhstan in his new music video

World-famous Kazakh vocalist Dimash Qudaibergen released a new music video for his song "Kieli Mekenim" (My Sacred Homeland). The music video was also premiered at the international forum dedicated to the completion of the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China held in Almaty.

7. Kazakhstan to revive Shaken’s Stars’ film festival

Kazakhstan is reviving the legendary "Shaken’s Stars" film festival. Moreover, thanks to a package of legislative initiatives the Shaken Aimanov Film Studio embarks on a new stage of its development. If the new law is adopted no less than 30% of the total backing of films throughout the country will be channeled directly to KazakhFilm.

8. Kazakhstani judokas claim 8 medals at European Cup in Greece

Kazakhstani judokas won eight medals, including two gold ones, at the Thessaloniki Cadet European Cup 2024 in Greece.

9. Kazakh fencers win bronze at Vancouver Fencing World Cup 2024

The Kazakh fencers won a bronze medal at the Vancouver Fencing World Cup 2024 held in Canada. On its way to bronze the Kazakh team beat Hong Kong and Italy and lost to Japan in the semis.

10.Kazakh wrestlers grab 6 medals at Korea Open International Wrestling Tournament in Sanju

The Korea Open International Wrestling Tournament wrapped up in Sanju, South Korea. Kazakh wrestlers pocketed six medals at the event.
