ASTANA. April 20. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan improves health services and works on energy saving and raising energy efficiency. Kazakh athletes strive to achieve good results at the London Olympic Games. Steering committee of the OECD initiative highly appreciated the Government efforts to introduce recommendations of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development for Central Asia.

On Monday the Healthcare Ministry said, that 234 000 people were examined during the first quarter of 2012 at the medical trains at the distant railway stations. Health professionals working at the three trains running the countrywide performed 82 000 diagnostic procedures and 183 small outpatient surgeries. 181 cases of tumor were revealed.

Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies Murat Ospanov taking the floor at the Government Hour held on Monday told about planned introduction of the two-level differentiation of tariffs for water consumed with phased transition to three-level differentiation.

Kazakhstan expects to win at least 3 gold medals at 2012 London Olympic Games, Chairman of Kazakh Sport and Physical Culture Agency Telgat Yermegiyaev said at the Government's sitting on Tuesday. "Our athletes must successfully perform at the Olympics and show results higher than at the previous Olympic Games in Beijing - to win at least three gold medals, against two won in Beijing. Totally it is planned to win over 13 medals," he said.

According to Yermegiyaev, today 74 athletes from sixteen sports won the right to participate in the Olympics. In general, till the end of the license period it is planned to get more than a hundred licenses in 25 sports.

Besides, he announced the sum of rewards to Kazakhstani sportsmen for medals at the Summer Olympics in London.

"The cash reward for the first place is USD 250,000, the second - USD 150,000, the third - USD 75,000, the fourth -USD 30,000, the fifth - USD 10,000 and the sixth  - USD 5,000," said Yermegiyaev in interview on the sidelines of the Government's sitting.

According to him, Kazakhstan plans to win medals in weightlifting, wrestling, women's wrestling and judo. Besides, we have high hopes for Kazakhstani boxers. London Olympics will be held from July 27 to August 12, 2012. It will be attended by more than 12,500 athletes and coaches from 205 countries around the world.

Yermegiyaev suggested establishing National Anti-Doping Center speaking at the Government's session.

"For the full operation of the anti-doping laboratory it is necessary to organize National Anti-doping center as the absent link in the chain of measures in the fight against doping," T. Ermegiyaev explained.

According to the Chairman, the National Anti-Doping Center must organize doping test of sportsmen, hematologic study and bioprobe, transportation and accounting, passporting and report making for the regional center and World Anti-Doping Agency.

Health Minister Salidat Kairbekova said that under the program "100 Hospitals" the construction of 40 health facilities in 13 regions of Kazakhstan is not yet finished.

The Minister reminded that the program envisaged 103 new health facilities, including 44 local and 4 republican ones. As of April 15, 2012, only 59 facilities totaling KZT 148.8 billion were built.

On Wed, April 18 on the instruction of Prime Minister Karim Massimov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Gulshara Abdykalikova paid a visit to Akmola region today. She surveyed the process of implementation of the Employment - 2020 Program in the region.

The Minister held a session at the local administration. The process of implementation of the Employment - 2020 Program on the example of Yenbekshilder district was reviewed at the session. Participants of the Program from Sandyktau and Burabai districts of the region addressed the meeting.

The Minister of Labor and Social Protection also visited the Employment Center in Kokshetau.

On April 19 a delegation of Kazakhstan led by Deputy Prime Minister Yerbol Orynbayev participated in a meeting of the Central Asia Initiative Steering Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Speaking at the session, Yerbol Orynbayev positively assessed the results of implementation of joint projects with the OECD aimed at strengthening of the country's economic competitiveness. The Deputy Premier also said that Kazakhstan was resolving the issues of implementation of the OECD recommendations in the spheres of innovations, politics, agricultural business and development of information technologies and regions.

Members of the Steering Committee highly appraised the efforts of the Kazakh Government on implementation of the OECD Initiative. They emphasized the role of Kazakhstan in Central Asian region.

Orynbayev also met with Deputy Secretary General of the OECD Rintaro Tamaki and told him about the readiness of our country to boost cooperation with the Organization. A proposal to use the export potential of the OECD in formation of a long-term and efficient economic strategy of our country was put forward at the meeting. The importance of territorial development, further improvement of the tax policy, comprehensive use of the potential in the sphere of education was also emphasized at the meeting.

The 11th meeting of the working group on Kazakhstan's WTO accession took place April 18 in Geneva.

Economic Integration Minister Zhanar Aitzhanova headed the Kazakh delegation, the press release of the Minister's secretariat reads.

The Minister made a report on the country's recent socioeconomic development, newly adopted laws and agreements signed to improve legislative base and stimulate economic progress in the country. She also thanked the working group for fruitful work and reps of all countries Kazakhstan has already completed bilateral talks with and signed protocols on access of goods and services.

Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov is on working trip in North Kazakhstan region today.

S. Akhmetov visited "Peterfeld Agro" Ltd. stock breeding complex, "Molproduct" Ltd. and agricultural goods fair.

He also held a meeting on the development of agro-industrial complex and preparation for spring field work.

In the afternoon, the First Deputy Prime Minister got familiarized with the implementation of the migration program "Nurly kosh" and visited a number of industrial and communal facilities of Petropavlovsk.

Being informed of the airport's current activity S. Akhmetov charged the Kazakh Minister of Transport and Communications to study carefully the issue of the airport rehabilitation and development.

In order to stabilize the functioning of the airport this year is proposed to allocate funds from the national budget in the amount of KZT 230 million.

The enlarged board meeting of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry with participation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev took place today in Astana.
