WEEKLY REVIEW: Kazakhstan carries out civil service reform preparing for the introduction of high standards into pharmaceutical industry
On Monday, March 3, the Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dossaev at Government hour in the Majilis, the lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament, reported that Kazakhstan will create a single operator for the supply of petroleum products from the Russian Federation. "To regulate import wholesale supplies of oil and gas products from Russia and ensure stability in the inner market, Kazakhstan is going to assign KazMunaiGas Onimderi LLP as a single operator," said Minister. Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Alikhan Baimenov noted Monday that the number of staff movements between government agencies in Kazakhstan decreased by 30 times. This was the result of execution of President's order. Tuesday, March 4, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov charged to submit proposals for improving the realization of the Business Roadmap 2020 program to the Government until March 15. "The program has been implementing since 2009. The Regional Development Ministry should keep working on improving the program execution. It is crucial to work out proposals for further realization of the programme taking into account development of the second five-year plan of the industrialization programme," the PM added. On Wednesday, March 5, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev in Berlin met with major economic associations of Germany. They discussed prospects for further development of Kazakh-German cooperation in trade, economic, resource, industrial, technological and investment fields. On Thursday, March 6, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Industry, Ministry of Industry and New Technologies Erjan Karibayev reported that in 2015 Kazakh pharmaceutical products will be produced in line with GMP standard, which will allow them to become competitive in the market of the Customs Union. According to his words, in 2013 the volume of pharmaceutical products production increased three times as compared to 2008 and amounted to more than KZT 33 bln. On Friday, March 7, Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov introduced new heads of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and Agency for Communications and Information to the staff of these bodies.
By the Decree of the Head of State, Zhenis Kassymbek was appointed Minister of Transport and Communications, and by the Government Resolution, Askar Zhumagaliyev was named Chairman of the Agency for Communications and Information.
